Marianne's 1st Sports Day - 5th July

Marianne had her very 1st Sports Day at Nursery on Saturday 5th July. Tanya took part in the 'buggy race' with Reuben and came 2nd (only just!) and also took part in the Mum's egg & spoon race and won. Marianne had 2 races and came 2nd in one and in the middle of the pack in the other (she went to pick up the same teddy bear as another little girl, so she had to find another which slowed her down!). She really enjoyed herself and wanted to run in the other races too. Afterwards we had a picnic in the garden at the Nursery and there was a bouncy castle, cake stall, raffle (Marianne won twice and Nannie Barrett won as well), tombola etc. They also had face painting and Marianne wanted to have a butterfly painted on her face.

After our picnic, we all went down to the seaside (Middleton-on-Sea) for the afternoon and had a walk/play on the beach - it was really windy.

In the evening, Tanya & David went to The Barley Mow in Tilford to celebrate with the family, Sarah turning 40 (her birthday is on 8th). It was a really lovely evening and most importantly, Sarah enjoyed herself.

Fishers Farm - 1st July

David, Tanya, Marianne and Reuben went for a family day out at Fishers Farm. It was probably the hottest day of the year, but fortunately none of us caught the sun. We went on all the days activities and Marianne had yet another horse ride and they put her on a Shire Horse!!! It was quite funny and she looked so tiny. David particularly enjoyed the barrell bugs and the bumper boats and Marianne's favourite was the merry-go-round. We went to the Animal Theatre where they had an animal show and Marianne was picked to go on the stage with some other children to feed the lambs.

Marianne & Reuben's 1st Train Ride - 30th June

We drove to Alton to spend the afternoon on the Watercress Line for Marianne and Reuben's 1st train ride. Unfortunately, when we got there, we found out that the trains weren't running on that day!!! As we'd promised Marianne a train ride, we got the 'South West Trains' train from Alton to Farnham and back again. We met the guard (Daniel) and Marianne had her photo taken with him. It was a lovely warm afternoon and Marianne was very excited.
